On July 8, and September 21, 2020 respectively, the Foundation in her magnanimity fulfilled her promise to set-up and empowered beneficiaries of the ten skillsets of the EGCDF Skill Acquisition Program Trainees with starter packs and cash equivalent in order to start their respective business ventures. This kind gesture of the Foundation is an indication that this administration is determined to create opportunities for economic empowerment to further improve and provide a sustainable means of livelihood for youths in EGCDF Communities.
The empowerment would have been immediate after graduation of the last set of trainees, however, it was delayed as a result of the outbreak of the novel COVID-19 pandemic which caused a great downturn in economic activities globally and halted both local and international operations.
The Skill Acquisition Programme which commenced in February 2019 and ended in January 2020, was conceived, designed and implemented by the current administration has the main drive to build the capacity of community youths in skills that will enable them to be self-sufficient, create wealth and earn a sustainable livelihood for themselves. The program on-boarded and graduated 108 (42 females and 66 males) within a period of 6 to 12months in ten skillsets namely: Carpentry, Aluminium Windows & Doors Fabrication, Fashion & Design, Photography & Video Coverage, Electrical& Installation, GSM Engineering, Make-up Artiste, Paint Making, Soap Making, and Agripreneurship
