EGCDF Commences the Building of an Ultra-Modern Event Center to Generate Funds
Founded in 2005, EGCDF receives her annual donation solely from Chevron Nig. Ltd (CNL) for the implementation of the various activities and programs. For the past 16 years, CNL has been consistent in providing the donation, which enabled the Foundation to successfully execute various infrastructural and non-infrastructural projects across all EGCDF constituent communities. These developments have transformed the aesthetics and landscape of our communities, impacted lives and built the capacity of our women and youths. This indeed is a landmark achievement to the Foundation and CNL being the sponsor.
However, due to the expansion in scope and size of EGCDF over the years, the annual donation from CNL has become insufficient to adequately fund the programs and activities of the Foundation. This is a big challenge to the Foundation in pursuit of implementing the blueprint developmental master plan for our communities.
This being a constraint to past administrations, the Chief Joseph O. Wuruyai led leadership at inception of office in April 2021, deemed it necessary to create opportunities for the generation of additional funds to support the programs and activities of the Foundation. Immediately taking over from his predecessor as the Executive Chairman of EGCDF, Chief Joseph O. Wuruyai initiated plans to build an Ultra-Modern Event Center at the EGCDF Secretariat Complex to generate additional funds for the Foundation. The project which started in November 2021 is ongoing at first floor decking level.
This project when completed will no doubt not just generate additional funds for the Foundation but will as well create employment opportunities for indigenes of EGCDF communities.
